Newell Coach, the family-owned Miami, Okla.-based manufacturer and dealer of luxury motorhomes, will celebrate its 50th anniversary of business in 2017.
“When you look back at not just the RV industry, but businesses in general, to be able to say that you’ve been around and successful for 50 years is a huge feather in our cap,” VP and General Manager Grant Kernan, who has been with the company for nearly five years, told RV PRO.
In April this year in Miami, Okla., the company will hold a customer rally at its new 65,000 square-foot facility, built last year, to commemorate the milestone.
“We have over a dozen employees who have been here 30 years or longer,” Kernan said. “Considering the town we live in, which only has about 10,000 people, the fact that we’re a huge part of the community and we’ve been successful with our customer-base is something we’re really proud of.”
“The relationships we’ve been able to form with so many of our customers over the years is a real testament to the family-oriented values that are part of our business’ culture.”
After releasing a new body style last year, which Kernan reports has been well received, Newell is constantly looking for new innovations in the RV market that will keep it at the forefront of the industry.
“That’s what’s worked for the last 50 years, and is what’s going to keep us going for the next 50,” Kernan said.
The company came into being when L.K. Newell purchased the motorhome operations of the Streamline trailer company in 1967.
