
David John “Bubba” Carter Jr., who was the chief executive officer and president of Dave Carter & Associates, died Oct. 26 at age 57.
Carter, who was born in Gainesville, Ga., and raised in Florida, entered the family business after graduating from Troy State University, leading the company for years.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Carter, of Summerfield, Fla.; daughter Ashley (Shaun) Cunningham of Ocala; son David John “Buc” Carter III of Tampa; daughter Stephanie Carter of Summerfield; brother Austin Carter of New Jersey; sisters Kimber (Barth) Hoopengarner of Ocala, Michelle “Buffy” Carter of Ocala, and Alexandria “Alex” Carter of Ocala; parents Ronnie and David Carter of Ocala; grandchildren Hailey and Landon Cunningham both of Ocala.
A celebration of David’s life was held at Grace Episcopal Church in Ocala on Oct. 30. The family received friends on Friday from Noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. Entombment took place at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
