ELKHART, Ind. – Things got into full swing Tuesday during the annual Open House Week event.
An off-and-on rain put a bit of a damper on the start of the day, but the sun broke through late in the afternoon and dealers flocked to the exhibits around town.
More than one product manager at Thor Industries reported that Monday sales were more than what they experienced on both Monday and Tuesday of last year’s Open House.
Tuesday evening events included Dueling Pianos and a car giveaway at Thor’s exhibit at the RV/MH Hall of Fame grounds, as well as a concert by 1980s rock band Foreigner at Forest River’s Dynamax facility. The Foreigner concert was packed and overflowing, easily outsizing the crowd at last year’s Forest River concerts.
Wednesday could potentially be the biggest day of the week for sales, as the weather is expected to clear up, giving the parking grounds a chance to dry out and dealers a chance to walk the grounds at the various exhibits without getting soaked.
