Heartland RV plans to expand in LaGrange County with the addition of a 52,200-square-foot RV service center, warehouse and executive office space on land at the Fawn River Crossing Industrial Park in Howe, Ind.
The LaGrange County Economic Development Corp., which sold the land to the Thor subsidiary, announced the deal in a news release Thursday (Jan. 14). A purchase price was not disclosed.
According to the release, Heartland planned to break ground on the land, located adjacent to the Indiana Toll Road, on Jan. 1.
Larry Miller, president of the LaGrange County Commissioners and a member of the LaGrange County EDC Board, is very encouraged by the recent developments.
“It’s impossible to deny the economic development momentum building in LaGrange County, and this project is a strong indication of that,” he said. “Heartland RV’s purchase of the remaining land at Fawn River Crossing Industrial Park is particularly meaningful as it took many years of planning, land preparation, marketing and significant public investment to make it possible.”
Heartland RV’s plans received approval from the LaGrange County Plan Commission at a special meeting held on Dec. 18. The project is already underway and officials expect to complete construction in late spring. The new facility will be fully staffed and operational by June 1.
