Although many good things have been happening at Winnebago Industries, it’s time to do great things, according to the company’s new chief executive officer and president.
Winnebago CEO and President Mike Happe spoke to the Forest City, Iowa Rotary Club this month, talking about the company’s success, his goals and the importance of service in his life, the Globe Gazette reports.
Winnebago has the “potential to go from good to great,” Happe said, adding, “Winnebago needs to turn it up a notch in terms of overall performance.”
Although the company has grown in market share, the growth has not been as fast as some competitors, he said.
Stock performances and other financials have lagged, Happe said.
The company still has less than 1 percent share of the towable market five years after it bought a towable company, Happe said.
He said as CEO he wants to increase value to shareholders, increase market share, improve overall financials and build a stronger company.
Winnebago’s potential is one reason he was attracted to the company, he said.
