Prime Time Mfg. has entered into an exclusive sourcing partnership with Indonesia’s P.T. Tanjung, a supplier of 2.7-millimeter plywood panels.
Also known as lauan, the plywood panels are used in the manufacturing of the walls, roofs, and floors of Prime Time’s laminated products.
“Identifying and eliminating defective lauan panels is one of the biggest challenges we face as a manufacturer,” Prime Time President Jeff Rank said. “We build thousands of laminated parts every month and rarely encounter a defect that affects our quality. However, when a defective panel makes its way into the hands of a retail customer, it can create a significant warranty challenge for us and our customer. With this move, we’ve taken significant steps in sourcing to further reduce that possibility.”
P.T. Tanjung was selected by Prime Time as their exclusive provider of plywood panels due to their commitment to stringent internal quality processes, industry-leading production standards and a track record of success, according to Rank.
“After many months of testing and researching various plywood panels, we feel confident that the lauan product we receive from Tanjung is the highest quality in the industry,” he said. “In addition, every plywood panel we buy is now hand sorted by our local supplier to ensure that only the best available product is used when building a Prime Time RV.”
