Lower unemployment, low fuel prices, and low interest rates helped to propel RV sales in 2015 to 374,246 units sold, a 4.9 percent increase over 2014 according to the RV Industry Association.
New retail data from NADAguides shows that overall used retail prices of towables rose 4.1 percent in 2015, and used motorized prices jumped 5.2 percent last year.
According to the report, demand for Class B motorhomes helped lift the overall price of RVs, and dealer feedback over the past several months supports the industry consensus that the market is still robust. Fuel prices dropped dramatically from 2014 to 2015 and are projected to drop slightly in 2016.
“Overall, dealers have said this mild winter has kept them busier than normal. Spring is fast approaching and with it we expect the usual inventory buildup. With 2016 off to a spectacular start, used values should also stay healthy,” the report said.
