The North Carolina RV Dealers held its annual meeting in late March, electing a new-look board of directors, the Association’s new President Rex Creech said.
The Association announced last month that Creech would succeed Carroll “Junior” Lineberger, who served as the president for the past two-plus years.
At the recent meeting, Lineberger was elected to serve as the group’s vice president, the position formerly held by Creech.
“Junior (Lineberger) is a hard pair of shoes to fill,” Creech said. “Junior’s been great and we’ve worked close together the whole year, and continue to do that.”
After going through a lull during and immediately following the recession, the Association has begun a rebound in recent years, Lineberger said in an interview in February.
At the recent meeting, the organization elected several new board members, which Creech hopes can help the group capitalize on growth in recent years as the Association continues to work to establish franchise laws in the state.
“Our association has really grown by leaps and bounds and we’re heading in the right direction,” Creech said. “We’ve got some really good dealers in our association.”
Members tapped Dave Hofert of D&H RV Center in Apex, N.C., as the secretary and treasurer.
Newly elected to the board are Joe Ellis (D&H RV Center), John Howard (Howard RV), Verena Keller (Country Camping Corner) and T.J. Paulin (Sonny’s Camp-N-Travel).
As the group’s new president, Creech will continue to work closely with Lineberger, with whom he said he speaks to at least twice a week. Creech said that type of regular contact is indicative of the bond between the NCRVDA dealer members in recent years.
“It’s a pretty strong and close-knit association, and is probably closer and stronger than it’s ever been,” Creech said. “I feel like this year is going to be a really good year.”
