Heating, air and specialty products supplier Airxcel has acquired roller shades manufacturer MCD Innovations, according to a news release from the company Thursday (Aug. 31).

The agreement is effective today (Sept. 1), and no purchase price was disclosed.

MCD will continue to make product at its current Texas facility and operate as a division of Airxcel, which currently sells products under the Coleman Mach, MaxxAir, Suburban, Marvair and Industrial Climate Engineering brands.

“We are pleased to join with Airxcel and be associated with the high quality products they currently produce,” said Dave Townsley, president and CEO of MCD Innovations. “Their vision and culture of product development and innovation are consistent with our goals and we look forward to working together to offer the highest quality solutions for sun control and privacy products.”

MCD was founded in 2003 in McKinney, Texas, and is credited as the creator of Day/Night roller shades found in many motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers, according to the release.

“MCD is recognized as the innovator and market leader of roller shade products and fits our strategy of providing quality brands under the Airxcel umbrella,” Airxcel President and CEO Jeff Rutherford said. “MCD’s McKinney manufacturing facility is state of the art and capable of supporting our customers’ requirements efficiently, timely and cost effectively”.
