In response to the introduction of the Vintage Cruiser at last year’s Open House, Gulf Stream Coach has created another innovative way to capture the excitement, enthusiasm, and overall fun vibe of the Vintage Cruiser phenomenon.
The all-new model features an exclusive wood-themed exterior reminiscent of the “Woody” station wagons that transported families, friends, surf buddies, and other adventurers on countless vacations across the country throughout the 1950s and ’60s.
Like the popular Teal and Crimson Vintage Cruiser color schemes launched last year, the new
“Woody” version combines the fun vibe of the ’50s with the latest in construction technology, electronics, and comfort features. The new Cruiser further capitalizes on memories and nostalgia of that era with a warm, inviting interior look of knotty pine paneling, ’50s style upholstery, and vintage-themed appointments throughout.
“The design team really enjoyed researching the origins of the “Woody,” which go back at least 100 years, with roots in watercraft, automobiles, and early RVs,” said Tim Dennig, Lightweight Division national sales manager at Gulf Stream Coach. “The team explored museums, discovered ideas in campgrounds, chased down antique vehicles on the road, and surfed through online galleries to find their inspiration.”
“It’s really rewarding to see the looks on RVers faces when they first see a Vintage Cruiser,” Dennig said. “Our dealers have learned that they can significantly increase customer traffic just by parking a Vintage Cruiser or two at the entrance to their lots. Vintage Cruiser travel trailers are re-energizing veteran campers; they’re inspiring first-timers, they’re capturing the imagination of countless prospects looking for a top-quality lightweight trailer, and, perhaps most importantly, they are causing more and more people who weren’t ‘in the market’ for a travel trailer to buy one to find out how much fun camping can be.”
Debuting at the Elkhart RV Manufacturer’s Open House Extravaganza next week in four floor plans from 19 to 23 feet long, featuring ultra-light-weight vacuum-bonded laminated construction, Azdel synthetic wall substrate, a seamless one-piece laminated fiberglass roof, and an aerodynamic, easy-to-tow profile, the new “Woody” edition, with its laid-back approach to camping, is sure to add to the appeal and mystique of the Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser phenomenon.
