Erwin Hymer Group North America welcomed Carolin and Christian Hymer to its Kitchener, Ontario, manufacturing plant last week.
Visiting Ontario for the first time, Carolin and Christian Hymer, the daughter and son of entrepreneur, inventor and founder of Europe’s leading caravan and motorhome manufacturer Erwin Hymer Group stopped by to see first-hand the North American head office of their family run business.
“This is an exciting time for us.” said Jim Hammill, president and CEO of Erwin Hymer Group North America. “Our business has grown substantially since we were acquired by Erwin Hymer Group in February. We are honored to have Carolin and Christian Hymer here to see not only what our current production plant looks like, but how we are incorporating European products into our mix and where we are taking the business in the next five years in North America."
After a tour of the manufacturing plant to see how the production of Class B motorhomes are built in North America, Christian Hymer addressed the employees who excitedly gathered to meet them.
“We are very proud to be here and to have you in our family business.” said Christian Hymer.
Also on hand to welcome them to the Kitchener area, were Kitchener Mayor Barry Vrbanovic, Waterloo Regional Chair Ken Seiling, and from the Waterloo Region Economic Development Corp. Tony LaMantia and Sherryl Petricevic.
“We feel very lucky to have the great support from the community, to have the local dignitaries come and stand with us today is truly remarkable” said Jim Hammill “We are proud to have our roots in this area for the past 43 years, and we are thrilled about the growth our business is going to bring to the area’s economy for the next few years.”
