XLR, a division of Forest River, has collaborated with Precision Circuits to debut a multiplex system for trailers designed to deliver luxury system monitoring features to its travel trailer lineup.
The company announced the deal at the National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky. this week (Dec. 1-3).
“(The system is) one of the most substantial options we’ve included in our Toy Haulers, because essentially, it provides features normally found only on luxury Class A motorhomes,” XLR General Manager Brent Stevens said.
The multiplex features include lighting control, dimmers, awnings, slides, tank levels, generator, energy management, and comes wireless-ready.
This is enveloped in one system defined by XLR and Precision Circuits, and will no longer be separate modules that operate differently from one another and only control one facet. The features are available via a 7-inch touchscreen control panel.
“We worked closely with installers and mechanics to include a Diagnostics Center,” Precision Circuits President George Cepynsky said.
The main theory behind the diagnostics aspect is to divide and conquer, according to the release.
Being able to isolate each point of connection, inputs and outputs, and have a digital readout of its status will save hours and dollars when identifying issues. The diagnostic feature helps the user identify a blown fuse, input statuses, and switch panel indication. It allows the dealers to diagnose all wall mounted switch panel functions, the operation of slides and awnings, fuse statuses, and more.
