Airstream will be looking to hire as many as 150 people in 2016.

Bob Wheeler, president of the Jackson Center-based RV manufacturer, told bizjournals.com on Wednesday that his company will need about 50 more workers to support trailer production by mid-year and another 100 for two new products that will be coming online in the later part of the year.

Airstream has already added about 60 new people in the last few months, to reach 615 employees, and exceeded the number it expected to hire after completing a $5.9 million expansion this year. When the project was announced in 2014, the company had 450 employees and looked to hire 125.

The additional hiring at Airstream will provide a jolt to Dayton region economy and the growth could result in additional business opportunities for local suppliers.
